Lynne’s August Beauty Picks

Holy moly I have discovered some serious game changer products this month. One of my favorite parts about writing this blog is getting to try out so many different products. August is always my busiest month with work travel and sorority recruitment which translates to sleepless nights and a less than stellar diet thus the products I put on my skin in August have to be extraordinary. No doubt these gorgeous products have given my skin the therapy and love it so desperately needs. And let me tell you being around 20 year old women for over a week makes this 34 year old hyper aware of aging…. Here are my standouts for the month: White & Elm Antioxidant Serum + Renewing Eye Serum & Ginger Chi Jade Roller I originally came across White & Elm skin care products on one of my favorite beauty websites Ecodiva Beauty and was immediately excited about giving these products a try! This brand is all about the empowerment of women and embracing our natural beauty and with a …

Apples & Spice & Everything Nice

One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six | Seven Apples are one of my favorite fruit to not only eat (I do almost daily in a smoothie) but also use in my skincare and makeup. Apples are loaded with phytonutrients, enzymes and alpha-hydroxy acids which help lock in skin’s moisture, plump up cells with hydration and protect the skin from aging through exfoliation. And since it’s Fall (allegedly-why is still so hot?) what better way to celebrate than by using skin products loaded with the original harvest fruit. Step aside pumpkin spice.

Loving in September

1. ILIA Sheer Vivid Tinted Moisturizer has been my favorite product so far this Fall. I have a strict rule that I never wear foundation during the summer months because I feel like my skin can’t breath so a tinted moisturizer is the perfect alternative. Unfortunately, even though it’s September the weather has yet to cool down here and still reaches the high 80’s during the day which means it’s not quite foundation weather. ILIA’s products are so luxurious and their Tinted Moisturizer is no exception. Formulated with aloe vera for added hydration the moisturizer goes on thinly and has just a hint of color plus it has SPF 20 so it protects your skin from uva and uvb rays. 2. This Silk Ruffle-Hem Dress from Madewell is the new love of my life. Well if I’m being completely honest the whole of the Madewell store is the new love of life. For some months now I’ve been paying very close attention to what I wear and I’m not talking about what the latest trends …

June’s Skincare Wishlist

I am a major luster of skincare products, makeup and all things beauty related. More so than even clothes I love to try out different beauty products to enhance the glow and health of my skin. With the change in season and the heat and humidity index rising higher and higher my current products simply won’t do. Here’s what I’m currently lusting over to nourish and keep my skin glowing and fresh all month long. May Lindstrom Skin The Clean Dirt is at the top of my want list currently. While I haven’t been breaking out lately per se, I’ve noticed some hormonal congestion around my chin and along my cheeks. Perhaps it’s the summer months, the humidity, the endless rain or maybe it’s just stress but either way my skin needs some serious TLC. I’ve been dying to try all of May Lindstrom’s products but The Clean Dirt seems to be the one that will be the most effective for my current skin woes. With a healthy mix of Vitamin C, two kinds of …

2015 Pantone Color of the Year – Marsala

This Pea Coat is so Fall and Winter chic. The clean lines of this coat are perfection. Plus it’s vegan, eco-friendly and zero waste. I’ve featured this handbag before and I am still just as in love with it today. The wine color tote represents the new color of the year splendidly, no? It’s also fair trade, eco-friendly and vegan. These namaste earrings by Ananda Soul Creations are simply gorgeous. Garnet attracts love to your personal relationships and enhances courage and self-confidence. This may be my favorite beauty product as it’s so simple and effective at clearing my skin. This french red clay konjac sponge hydrates and brightens dull skin through gentle exfoliation. My favorite fall/winter accessory is a dark nail. This nail lacquer is the best way to try on marsala for yourself. I love Ilia lipstick because it’s the only one that moisturizes while adding long lasting color. Slap on some of Ilia’s Tinted Lip Conditioner in Bang Bang. I’m still lusting over these shoes and since they’re on sale I should probably …

2015 Wishlist

With the end of each year I can’t help but reflect on the closing year and look forward to the new year. I have been hyper aware of my advancing age recently and the aging process that comes with it. On my list of goals for 2015 is to take better care of my skin and be proactive with my new beauty regiment aka use anti-aging products. So as the texture of my skin changes and my breasts begin to succumb to gravity I will be doing everything within reason (naturally of course) to maintain my girlish look. Here’s what is on my wishlist for 2015!! konjac, amala, vered, yarok, tata harper, pai age oil, pai oil, rahua, may lindstrom

Fall Inspired Makeup Look

When it comes to makeup I am definitely a creature of habit. I wish I were one of those girls that came up with a new makeup look many times a week but that’s just not who I am and I’ve accepted it. My most recent makeup look is inspired by the beautiful Fall season (my favorite color is October) and is extra special because it is entirely toxin-free. It seems that each day there’s a new It makeup/skincare line bursting onto the scene and I love it! More makeup for me to habitually obsess over. I put a little board together to showcase my current makeup look and I even included a selfie below so you can see the finished product. I am not a selfie taker to be clear, but I’m going to go ahead and branch out, after all it’s time to get comfortable being uncomfortable and grow. Does taking a selfie count as personal growth? One // Two // Three // Four // Five // Six // Seven // Eight // …
