June’s Skincare Wishlist

I am a major luster of skincare products, makeup and all things beauty related. More so than even clothes I love to try out different beauty products to enhance the glow and health of my skin. With the change in season and the heat and humidity index rising higher and higher my current products simply won’t do. Here’s what I’m currently lusting over to nourish and keep my skin glowing and fresh all month long. May Lindstrom Skin The Clean Dirt is at the top of my want list currently. While I haven’t been breaking out lately per se, I’ve noticed some hormonal congestion around my chin and along my cheeks. Perhaps it’s the summer months, the humidity, the endless rain or maybe it’s just stress but either way my skin needs some serious TLC. I’ve been dying to try all of May Lindstrom’s products but The Clean Dirt seems to be the one that will be the most effective for my current skin woes. With a healthy mix of Vitamin C, two kinds of …

2015 Wishlist

With the end of each year I can’t help but reflect on the closing year and look forward to the new year. I have been hyper aware of my advancing age recently and the aging process that comes with it. On my list of goals for 2015 is to take better care of my skin and be proactive with my new beauty regiment aka use anti-aging products. So as the texture of my skin changes and my breasts begin to succumb to gravity I will be doing everything within reason (naturally of course) to maintain my girlish look. Here’s what is on my wishlist for 2015!! konjac, amala, vered, yarok, tata harper, pai age oil, pai oil, rahua, may lindstrom

Best Organic Shampoos & Conditioners – For Faboosh Hair

For the last 6 months I have been trying different organic shampoos and conditioners to create the toxin-free hair of my dreams. Those that know me know how obsessed I am with my hair – my hair is my thing. And, let’s be honest what girl doesn’t have her particular thing that she’s super proud of – don’t be shy, admit it. My hair is naturally curly which I always blow dry and straighten to Victoria Secret perfection (well at least I try to anyway) so a super moisturizing and protective shampoo and conditioner is crucial. There are many reasons I made the transition to natural hair care but the primary reasons were the chemicals used in main stream shampoos and conditioners. What goes on goes in. It’s important to look for products that are free of lauryl and laureth sulfates, parabens, animal by-products, phthalates, gluten and most importantly are never tested on animals. Here is my Top 3 list of favorites: Giovanni Cosmetics – 2Chic Ultra-Sleek Collection Giovanni Shampoo and Conditioner exceeded my expectations almost …

Product Love: Olivia Garden

Don’t you just love finding a brand that’s amazing – so much so that you want to own everything they make? Well that’s what happened to me when I discovered Olivia Garden. While reading one of my favorite blogs – Living Pretty Naturally – there was a post on the benefits of using wooden brushes in which the Olivia Garden Paddle Brush was recommended. I basically love everything Kate from LPN posts about so I immediately went to Amazon and ordered the paddle brush. From the minute I got it I was hooked. I never knew that it was possible to love a hair brush as much as I do the Olivia Garden Healthy Hair Paddle. It’s seriously a game changer. This brush is gentle, big (perfect for my long hair), easy to handle and it’s eco-friendly as well. I am just mad for this thing!   After my elation with the paddle brush I went in search of a new round boar bristle brush and I immediately turned to Olivia Garden again. I figured there was no …

The Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a newish discovery for me but let me just say Wow! Who knew you could do so much with fancy shmancy vinegar?! I love a good product discovery don’t you? I have a shot each morning following my morning probiotic and glass of water (make sure to cut the shot with some warm water). The benefits of ACV are pretty much endless, however, not all ACV is the same you must look for and purchase ACV that has ‘with the mother’ on the label. ‘The Mother’ is the byproduct of the fermentation process that settles on the bottom of the bottle – in other words – the good stuff. Rumor has it that Hippocrates used ‘the mother’ to heal his patients. Well hot damn if Hippocrates was down with it I’m in! You can use ACV in basically any facet you wish. For example: 1. The obvious use is to ingest it. A shot or two or three of ACV a day can boost energy, aid in weight loss, balance your …

Bloglovin and Coconut Oil

If you don’t already use Bloglovin for all of the blogs you follow you’re missing out! This is the easiest way to keep all of your online reading in one place. And, don’t forget to follow me here Bloglovin! As for me, I’ll be home today nurturing my dry winter locks with a Coconut Oil Hair Treatment. Maybe one of the least expensive ways to moisturize your hair and skin. There is no question that Coconuts are a Superfood! Not only can coconut oil improve the lipid content of your skin it delivers in bringing moisture back during these cold winter months. Plus it can protect your hair and skin from the damaging effects of the sun blocking up to 20% of ultraviolet rays. Coconut Oil Hair Treatment  1/4 cup Unrefined Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Heat oil until warm and slowly pour onto your scalp. Massage into scalp and then add the remaining coconut oil throughout hair concentrating on ends. Let sit for at least one hour (I prefer 2) then shampoo and condition with organic …
